Children's Mural

Children's Mural for Families First

I've created a custom mural for Families First, an organization that provides services which strengthen families, empower parents, nurture children, and end the cycle of child abuse and neglect. Their vision is a community that nurtures children, empowers parents, and strengthens families.

The mural is interactive and three dimensional. Depicting a Rocky Mountain nature scene, some of the animals are printed in vinyl and will be stuck to the walls. The bear and fox are printed in 3D and the sun has been engineered so that a kid can grab its rays and spin them around.

The wall itself is magnetic so that kids can create their own butterflies, insects, and fish and stick them to the wall.

I love the idea of inspiring creativity in kids and having them participate in the art I create.

Here are some pictures of the installation process:

RIBBON CUTTING

Over a year in the making, we celebrated the completion of the project at Families First on March 17, 2015. A bunch of the kids that would be enjoying the mural and their families were present. I couldn't stop smiling - it was a great time and the kids had a blast creating their own magnetic art to make the mural their own. Here are a few pictures from the event:
