Goonies Adventure in Portland

Kristin and I had a wonderful time in Portland a couple of weekends ago, visiting with a bunch of friends and family. The weather was amazing, which we were told was not the norm – so we made sure to take advantage of every moment.

The highlight for me might have been visiting the Oregon coast to see what I prefer to think of as where the Goonies grew up. The same rocks from the movie are there and I couldn’t help put shout out “Baby ruth” in my best Sloth voice. “Babyyy…Ruuuuth?!”

We enjoyed wine tasting at the various vineyards in the area – especially Lemelson Vineyards.

Murphy loves to chase tennis balls. This past weekend, I took my new Nikon D90 out to try to capture Murphy in action. The two pictures above are two really neat pictures that catches him mid-stride. Enjoy!

Mama Don’t Take My Kodachrome Away

My new Nikon D90 came in the mail yesterday. I finally got to take some shots this morning, playing around with the RAW format for the first time. Super cool. This is a picture of Murphy lounging in the morning sun.

I can’t wait to get back into photography – it’s been too long.

Here’s a sped of version of me adding one more element to an illustration for a client. One thing that’s interesting here is quickly creating different faces for a fake screenshot by building off of one “source face.”

Flurry of Thoughts Diddy

I’ve had a lot on my mind lately. I took some time to relax last night and tried to get a bit of the thoughts out onto the keyboard. This diddy came out of it. “Diddys” are little riffs I create in one take and flow stream of conscious onto the keys, mistakes and all. Enjoy!

Speaking at Wordcamp Denver

This shows the power of Illustrator after a client made some suggestions to make an illustration I did of a woman a touch more feminine.

They asked for things like jewelry, makeup, curvier figure, more mature hair styling, and tinier hands.

This is sped up a bunch, obviously.
